My Story - Once Upon A Time Is Now

Written by
As I sit here in the silence, in my beautiful & peaceful new home, with nothing but the sound of the pouring rain outside…I can’t help but feel extremely overwhelmed and immensely grateful for all that Jesus has done in my life.

I feel like I’m living a fairy tale. Cinderella perhaps. However, I certainly didn’t have an evil step-mom and step-sisters. I grew up with a wonderful family, full of lots of love and devotion. But just like Cinderella was robbed of the kind of youth that she should have had…so was I.

Jim's Story

Because the following is so personal, I must have written and rewritten it dozens of times. I want to be truthful yet sensitive to those involved, and I want to say only what needs to be said that might encourage someone else walking a similar path. With much prayer and consideration, I believe I’ve done that. Also, given the many requests for the backstory that led to where I am today, it might be more of a short book than a blog post... I hope it’s worth it.

Paleo Diet Yummies

Written by

I have enjoyed my first 1.5 weeks on the Paleo Diet.  What I'm finding is that it's not a diet...but an eating lifestyle.  On the Paleo Diet, you eat lean meat, veggies (except for legumes (beans, etc) & high starches like corn & regular potatoes), fruit, and seeds & nuts. So no grains, added sugars, or dairy.  I lived on Ezekiel Bread and Greek Yogurt up til now.  I'm finding that I'm not even craving those things now.  Sooooo interesting.

I came to a very important realization while I was running my 10 miles ever so slowly this morning. LOL. And it is this: I was not born to be a runner. (Hear me out here. *smile*)

I grew up a huge athlete. From elementary school up through my senior year in high school, I played sports year round. Volleyball, basketball, and softball were my sports. I was on the volleyball teams because of my strong serve.
